Our History

Formed in 1922, the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce was founded for the purpose of “promoting and protecting the moral, social, business and civic interests of the Village of Rocky River Ohio.” A dedicated group of business-minded individuals gathered to form a business association as the village continued to develop into a flourishing city. 

On February 27, 1922, the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce was incorporated as a 501(c)6 organization. There were 23 charter members and established committees including membership, program, boosters, merchants and traffic. Records show that in 1938 the initiation fee was set at $2.50 and annual dues at $5.00. 

Over the years, our Chamber has evolved and grown to accommodate the changing needs of our members and community! At one time, the Chamber was home to numerous truck farms and greenhouses, and now supports tech companies, law offices and so much more. 

With over 450 energetic members, the Rocky River Chamber is known as “the best of the west.”
